The Century House has been serving the community of Madison, WI for more than 60 years at our University Ave. location. This web site is an extension of our mission to bring our customers the best the world has to offer in modern and contemporary décor and furniture for the home.

Here we hope that you will find a taste of what we are at The Century House.

The products shown on this site are but a sampling of the large variety of furnishings and gifts that we display in our showrooms. It is our hope that you see this as an invitation to visit us in person. There is much more to The Century House experience!

Where are you located? Is there a store near me?

We are really a single, local business. Our stores are located on University Ave. in Madison, WI. We have three buildings; our gift shop is in the original stone building at 3029 University, while our main furniture store is located next door across our parking lot. A few years back we also opened our Leather Gallery down the road at 6771 University, which is in Middleton, WI. The Leather Gallery showcases the complete Ekornes® collection from Norway. We are not a chain and do not have stores elsewhere in the country.

How can I buy from your website?

We are a "bricks and mortar" retail store. The level of service we try to provide would be difficult with a point and click purchase. You are always welcome to contact us to discuss the details of placing an order. We can provide you with options and pricing so that you can make an informed choice.

Do you have a catalog?

We hope that this website is a good sampling of our offerings. With more than 150 different suppliers it is difficult to show everything. If you would like more we are always happy to assist and send you information and photos. We have publications and brochures for many of our products that may help. Just let us know what you need. Or subscribe at the bottom of our page for our emailing list and find out about new products and events as they happen.

Can you ship to me?

Yes, the option is always available. Many of our gift and accessory lines ship out easily at minimum expense. Larger furniture items may pose a bigger challenge. However, anything is possible. It is best to contact us to discuss the possibilities.

What about local pickup?

Absolutely. We are happy to accommodate you if you choose to come to us. Typically, we will work with you to determine the best scenario. We can have items assembled, wrapped, boxed and ready to go when you need them. And of course, we will happily load up your vehicle when you arrive.

Will you deliver?

Of course. We send our own delivery vehicles with very experienced and courteous staff throughout the region. If you are nearby, this is a very economical solution. With our delivery, you know your new furniture will be handled by experts until it is in place in your home.

Can you customize?

Very often there is the need to change or modify an existing piece to accommodate such needs as wiring, lighting, furnace vents, etc. We are always willing to work with you to solve those quirky issues in your home. There may be charges associated with modifications, which will usually result in a final sale for said item. Talk to us.

Can you help me design my space?

Yes, our sales associates are very knowledgeable in the huge variety of options available to solve every design dilemma. They are a great resource for you. From picking fabrics to creating an entire office layout the professionals here will always help. Just let us know what we can do for you.

What about a warranty?

We have created a reputation over our 60 years in business for selling and supporting quality lines of furnishings. We always guarantee our furniture. If there is a problem with a piece you purchased here, we will do everything we can to take care of it. Many of our products also come with manufacturer warranties, which of course we support.
