Time Change

Posted on by Krista

While I’m notoriously fearful of change, I’m all about Daylight Savings Time (November 4th this year). I will sneak an extra hour of sleep into my schedule whenever I can, and the time change actually gives me a free pass to get away with it every fall!  This year, I fantasize about hitting that snooze button.  It would go something like this: I finally awake from my slumber, I stretch my arms, say good morning to the singing birds perching on my extended hand, and I know that I will live happily ever after.  All I need to make my dreams a reality is that perfect snooze button…

Well, I’m being realistic in that the clock is a malleable detail of that delusion, right?

Ok, so how about this: I awake from my slumber, stretch my arms, say good morning to the singing birds, and tell them to get lost so I can see this…

To be realistic, I find myself not as concerned with the actual time of day so much as how it’s presented.  I can’t help it; pretty packaging is tempting to this princess of the modern age.   But, all looks aside, I justify my timepiece fascination by saying that it’s faster to glance at my wrist (or at the wall) than to dig in my pocket for my phone.  Bottom line, time efficiency equals more time for sleep, and that is music to this sleeping beauty’s ears.
